Robb novel, <cite>Purity in Death<\/cite><\/strong>, which I wasn&#8217;t expecting to see out for another week or two. I&#8217;m used to getting the September Eve\/Roarke release while I&#8217;m moving into school, and the March on spring break&#8212;but this one was out a little early, and I won&#8217;t ever be in school again, hallelujah.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a good thing I read these to enjoy the <em>characters<\/em>, because this setup is almost absurdly stupid. You can see why, ages ago <a href=\"http:\/\/steelypips.org\/reviews\/conspiracy.html\">in a review of an earlier volume<\/a>, I said these weren&#8217;t really science fiction: no-one in sf would use a computer virus as a murder weapon without some explanation as to how, exactly, subliminal audio and visual stimuli could transfer a biological virus into a person&#8217;s brain, which then literally explodes. Yeah, that&#8217;s what I said.<\/p>\n<p>Ahem. Anyway, characters not plot; fast-paced and snappy; guilty pleasure&#8212;check, check, and check. Another <cite>Noun\/Adjective in Death<\/cite> book under the belt and another couple of hours spent harmlessly.
